![]() That game came out more than eight years ago, though, so maybe expecting everyone to have played it would be a big ask. It’s an odd move, considering Solas was such an enormous part of Dragon Age: Inquisition. If you’re new to Dragon Age, you have no need to worry about not having met our antagonist just yet. “But at the core of this, like every past game, is you. “Whether you’re new to Dragon Age stories or you’ve experienced them all, using Solas’s namesake no doubt suggests a spectrum of endless possibilities on where things may go,” reads a statement on Bioware’s blog. Curiously, Bioware doesn’t expect you to know the character’s backstory going into Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. Yes, the highly-anticipated RPG is centering on none other than fan-favorite villain Solas. On Thursday, Bioware officially made Dragon Age: Dreadwolf the official title of its next project. Glad that we’re finally getting around to that! I'm just analyzing from a business perspective, I would love the see a remaster of DAO and DA2 but it's extremely unlikely that EA will do that, at least not until they decide to announce an hypothetical DA5.After all these years, the next Dragon Age has an actual title. Dragon Age still has a strong fanbase so "reviving" it is still unnecessary and by the time it gets necessary a remake for DAO will be even more necessary.Īlso, ME is far more accesible than Dragon Age, they would definitely not make more money. ![]() If Origins ever gets relaunched it can't be a remaster, it has to be a remake and if they're going to that they should also consider remaking DA2, DAI is fine and can be left untouched but a remake for Origins is 100% necessary if they ever plan to relaunch it.Īlso, a Legendary Edition has no purpose for now, ME:LE was made because of their plans to make ME4, that's why the Legendary Edition was announced a few months after the ME4 teaser. My preference would be a remastered 1-3, with enough time taken for DA4 to deliver on its promise.ĭoubtful, mostly because of DAO, that game is old and not many people will enjoy it's gameplay so that won't attract any new players like ME:LE did. DA2 felt like a great smaller scale tale, as part of a greater whole, but seemed in some respects significantly poorly delivered (the cut and paste interiors were noticeable and eventually irritating and distracting). DAI was very enjoyable (except the fetch quests), and I'm one of those people who enjoyed the semi-open world map and the DAI style of combat. The story in the first one seemed the best of the 3. I felt I would have enjoyed it more if it was remastered (or even remade, if not with a heavy hand). I loved all of them, for differing reasons, but the first one felt quite dated to me (as per also Mass Effect). I started with DAI and then played 1 and 2. I suspect many who already love the (whole) Dragon Age story would buy a legendary edition, and it might make DA4 more attractive to new players. I also greatly enjoyed Mass effect Legendary Edition.
